Merlin Taxidermy Tool Set

With nothing else like it on the market, the Merlin accessories can be used for fleshing, trimming, cutting, sanding, grinding, sculpting and shaping a wide variety of material such as foam forms, fiberglass, wood, plastic, bone and metal. 

Weighing in at 1.5 pounds and 11” long, the Merlin Taxidermy Tool Set consists of a lightweight and easy to maneuver miniature long neck angle grinder that powers an assortment of 2” diameter accessories.

Merlin Taxidermy Tool Set comes with six 2" diameter discs specifically for use in the Taxidermy industry.

1. Black Magic Fleshing Blade
Excellent control for detail fleshing around eyes, ears and mouth area. Razor sharp for greater cutting control.

2. Eight (8) tooth ¼”pitch chain saw blade
Used to cut and sculpture different material; wood, ice, dense foam, foam core and soft non-ferrous materials. Great for working on habitat.

3. Flat Profile Tungsten Carbide Abrasive Disc - Coarse Red
Not as aggressive as the chain saw blade, it’s used for the removal and final shaping of material.  Especially effective on dense foam and wood.

4. Aluminum Oxide Cutting Disc
Exceptional for the initial removal of excessive fiberglass on fish forms. Used to cut bone and metal.

5. Flap Disc Sander - 100 Grit
100 grit sand paper with a rubber backing makes it extremely flexible allowing it to conform to the shape that you’re working on.

6. Silicon Carbide Grinding Disc 60 Grit
This accessory can be used to keep a nice edge on your other cutting tools. 

The variable speed Merlin operates between 6,500 to 13,000 rpm and allows the taxidermist to dial in the speed and aggressiveness required for each of the different tasks one can perform. It enables smooth cutting and excellent control for a myriad number of applications.
